Daily Fantasy Golf Weather Report for the AT&T Byron Nelson

Weather has wreaked havoc on this event in the past, and it's possible we're in for another rainy iteration of the Byron Nelson.

Usually, the impact of weather on sports is minimal, but when it comes to an outdoor sport like golf, wind, rain, heat, humidity, barometric pressure, and more can all affect player performance.

That won't be the case this week for the AT&T Byron Nelson, which is going to be heavily affected by both wind and rain. Is there an edge to gain? Or are we just at the mercy of the forecast?

The Forecast

According to Dark Sky, rain is in play every day through next week in Irving, Texas. That could cause some issues and delays. And that's before even getting to the wind. And it might start on Thursday. Woof.

Thursday

Okay, okay, so it's supposed to be overcast most of the day Thursday, until 5:00 p.m., so every golfer will have teed off by then for sure, as final tee times are 2:00 p.m. Rain could start around 3:00 p.m., though, and that means potentially downgrading guys with later tee times, but that's probably not necessary.

Winds will be around 15 miles per hour most of the day, so that'll cause some issues.

Friday

Overnight rain could lead to issues for early-morning golfers on Friday.

Graham DeLaet, Ryan Palmer, J.T. Poston, Tony Finau, Ryan Moore, Dustin Johnson, J.B. Holmes, Sergio Garcia, Patrick Reed, and Jason Day all tee off prior to 8:00 a.m. on Friday if all goes according to schedule. Rain during the day is unlikely, so it's possible a late start and a smooth finish is in the cards.

Winds and temperatures should wind up close to Thursday's numbers.

Saturday

Rain is quite likely on Saturday, and precipitation odds sit above 50% for most of the day. All bets are off entering the weekend. Winds should be tame, though!

Sunday

Saturday delays could very easily span into Sunday, and precipitation odds are still above 50% until around 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning. You certainly can't avoid weekend golfers, so there's only so much we can do. Just embrace the chance of a Monday finish.

Takeaways

In 2015, this tournament was so impacted by weather that a par 4 was shortened to a 104-yard par 3. Bumping up guys with significant course history could pay off if conditions get scary.

But just trust your research and your instincts this week. It could get messy.
