Walker Buehler, P, Los Angeles Dodgers

Through five starts in 2018, Walker Buehler has been an absolute killer. His average pitch velocity ranks sixth among the 173 players to throw at least 400 pitches this season, and that has helped him to a 30.4% strikeout rate. His 3.02 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) is also a stellar mark.

Those big strikeout numbers are nothing new for Buehler. His first eight big-league appearances in 2017 saw him notch a 27.3% strikeout rate, and he posted a 34.0% clip in 12 Triple-A starts last year. The Colorado Rockies strike out at a top-10 rate against right-handed pitching, so Buehler has huge strikeout upside in this one.

The Rockies are also dead-last with a 65 wRC+ against righties. Their 3.25 implied total is Monday's lowest, so Buehler offers safety along with upside. This combination of an elite floor and ceiling make him an easy pick as the day's top arm in fantasy.
