Austin Gomber, SP, St. Louis Cardinals

On a short main slate tonight, Austin Gomber will toe the rubber for the St. Louis Cardinals, and while this matchup looms large in the NL Wild Card race, the rookie lefty could have a tough night.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, Gomber's opponent, have been hitting lefties hard this season, ranking fifth as a team in hard-hit rate (38.9%) and sixth in fly-ball rate (37.7%).

While they do provide some strikeout upside in this split, whiffing 22.9% of the time, it may be best to avoid Gomber, who enters as a sizable home underdog (+166).
