Chris Sale, SP, Boston Red Sox

There aren't a lot of scenarios where rostering Chris Sale of the Boston Red Sox makes a whole lot of sense to me.

After lingering shoulder issues that impacted his performance at the end of 2018, 2019 has been extremely rocky for the southpaw. He holds a 9.00 ERA, 5.23 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA), and only a 13.1% strikeout rate so far this season. Keep in mind that this is a dude that rocked a 38.4% strikeout rate a year ago.

Some may consider rostering the ace at only $9,000, especially while he's facing a New York Yankees lineup that's missing sluggers Giancarlo Stanton, Didi Gregorius, Gary Sanchez, and Aaron Hicks, but that seems like a bad idea given his struggles and potential lingering injury concerns.
