4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/26/16

The Cincinnati Reds head to the desert tonight for a matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and it figures to be a high-scoring affair. Which other offenses should we target in MLB DFS?

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Cincinnati Reds

It's not often that the Cincinnati Reds get a park-factor boost. Great American Ballpark is tremendous for offense, so it's hard to find them in better situations than they usually have. Chase Field is just that Gucci, and it could be home to a whole lotta runs tonight.

Braden Shipley has been able to go at least five innings in each of his first six starts in the big leagues, so he may seem initially to be a sub-ideal stacking candidate. His 5.29 SIERA and 40.7% hard-hit rate allowed beg to differ. Shipley struggled to get strikeouts in the minors, too, with a 15.5% strikeout rate in 19 Triple-A starts, so this shouldn't come as a surprise, and it allows us to get even more excited about the Reds as they hit the road.

It is abundantly interesting that Billy Hamilton's price remains $3,000 on FanDuel. As numberFire's John Stolnis spelled out yesterday, Hamilton's stick has improved considerably since the All-Star break, improvements that are legitimized by his 13.8% walk rate this month. He has the steal upside, he's in a tremendous matchup, and the huge dimensions of the park play right into his strengths. Don't expect Hamilton's run to halt tonight.
