4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 4/17/18

The Brewers took a tough loss to the Reds last night, but they'll look to rebound in a prime spot. Are they the top stacking option on Tuesday night?

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers took one on the chin last night against a three-win Cincinnati Reds team. But, tonight, hey will look to get one back in the win column at home against Sal Romano.

Romano is a young arm with a lot of promise, and he fared okay in 2017. Over 87 innings, the right-hander recorded a 4.45 ERA, 4.72 SIERA and 19.0% strikeout rate. Where Romano gets in trouble is his command -- he handed out free passes 9.6% of the time.

Over 15 1/3 innings this season, Romano has increased his walk rate to 12.5%, and he's giving up hard contact at a higher clip (33.9%). It's not a recipe for success, especially as Romano takes on a Brewers squad with the ability to smack around righties.

Eric Thames left Sunday's game with an adductor strain and didn't play in Monday's matchup. But he's considered day-to-day, so his status is up in the air for today's game. If he's in there, Thames and Travis Shaw will lead off the Brew Crew stack. Both are reasonably priced at $3,300, which could be key to paying up for a Corey Kluber, Shohei Ohtani or Patrick Corbin. Thames has bashed right-handed pitching since his return to Major League Baseball -- a season ago, he logged a .286 isolated power (ISO), 43.6% hard-hit rate, and 42.1% fly-ball rate. Shaw was also solid against righties in his inaugural season in Milwaukee last year, recording a .249 ISO, 39.8% hard-hit rate, and 38.0% fly-ball rate.

The Brewers stack offers more value in Domingo Santana ($2,800), who is always up to do some righty-on-righty damage. He mashed his way to a 38.3% hard-hit rate against them in 2017.

Finally, check to see if Jesus Aguilar makes his way into the lineup at first base. The power-packed righty crushed right-handed pitching last year, recording identical 40.2% hard-hit and fly-ball rates. And he'll set you back only $2,400 tonight.
