FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Wednesday 8/8/18
Compared to the last couple nights, pitching takes a back seat on Wednesday's nine-game main slate, but on the bright side, we still have plenty of offense to choose from. Some familiar faces in the Cubs, Yankees, Indians, and Red Sox are all showing implied team totals above five runs this evening.

On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitcher
Luis Severino ($9,400 on FanDuel): There's little question Luis Severino has struggled over his last five starts, recording a putrid 8.28 ERA and uncharacteristically low 17.8% strikeout rate. But the good news is his velocity hasn't seen a noticeable dip, and at least some of his issues could be the result of an inflated BABIP (.395). It's also worth noting that two of those outings have come against tough opponents in the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians. Luckily, he gets the perfect get-well matchup versus the Chicago White Sox, who have whiffed 25.6% of the time against right-handed pitching and are getting a mere 3.34 implied team total. In spite of this rough patch, Severino still holds a strong 3.33 SIERA, 27.6% strikeout rate and 6.2% walk rate, and it wasn't too long ago that he was being discussed as one of the league's very best arms. We're getting a nice discount here, and you shouldn't hesitate to use Severino in cash games. Clayton Kershaw ($11,000) is beginning to re-earn our trust, but a lofty price tag and difficult matchup against the Oakland Athletics makes him more suited for tournaments.
