4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 9/4/18

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Cleveland Indians

Danny Duffy enjoyed a breakout 2016 season in which he pitched to a 3.51 ERA. In 2018, however, he has an elevated 10.1% walk rate to go with a subpar 9.7% swinging-strike rate. But as bad as his plate-discipline metrics are, his contact management is even worse. He's allowed a 42.7% fly-ball rate and 37.8% hard-hit rate.

The Cleveland Indians boast the lowest strikeout rate in baseball (19.2%) against left-handed pitching. Add in the sixth-best fly-ball rate (37.7%) and ninth-best hard-hit rate (36.4%) in the split, and you have one of the best offenses in baseball.

Jose Ramirez ($4,700), Mookie Betts, J.D. Martinez, and Mike Trout, are all in the conversation for the American League MVP award, and you can't go wrong with any of them. Ramirez, though, has crushed left-handed pitching to the tune of a 9.2% strikeout rate, 42.4% fly-ball rate, and 38.1% hard-hit rate.

Francisco Lindor ($4,400) owns a 164 wRC+ against southpaws this year, including an 11.5% strikeout rate and 42.5% hard-hit rate. Edwin Encarnacion ($4,100) has a 19.2% strikeout rate, 48.1% fly-ball rate, and 46.8% hard-hit rate against left-handed pitching this year. Michael Brantley ($3,900) is one of the most complete hitters in the game. He's got a 8.6% strikeout rate and 38.7% hard-hit rate this season.

Melky Cabrera ($3,600) owns a 170 wRC+ against left-handed pitching this year, including a 48.6% hard-hit rate. Jason Kipnis ($3,000) is sitting on a 53.3% fly-ball rate and 31.9% hard-hit rate against southpaws. Yandy Diaz ($2,900) owns a 18.3% strikeout rate and 46.8% hard-hit rate on the year.
