4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 9/17/18

The Washington Nationals draw a terrific matchup against Trevor Richards as they travel south to take on the Miami Marlins. Which other teams should you be stacking tonight?

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks.

Washington Nationals

In 2018, Trevor Richards has allowed a 38.8% fly-ball rate and 38.7% hard-hit rate. And that, combined with a 10.6% walk rate and 10.0% swinging-strike rate, makes him a prime stacking target tonight.

Richards' opponent, the Washington Nationals, rank third in the Majors in walk rate (9.7%) and second in strikeout-to-walk ratio against right-handed pitching this year.

Leading the way for Washington is Bryce Harper ($4,600). He's bopped 33 home runs and swiped 12 bags this year. The home runs come thanks to a 38.4% fly-ball rate and 41.7% hard-hit rate. As for Juan Soto ($4,400), he has a 157 wRC+ against right-handed pitching, including a 36.0% hard-hit rate. Anthony Rendon ($4,100) is having a fantastic year of his own, and he's got just a 14.3% strikeout rate to go with a 42.6% fly-ball rate and 38.1% hard-hit rate.

Trea Turner ($3,800) is a beast, as he's got 17 home runs and 39 steals on the season. Near the top, Adam Eaton ($3,600) also comes into play with a 125 wRC+, 15.5% strikeout rate, and 34.9% hard-hit rate against right-handed pitching this year. And while you may not have heard much from Ryan Zimmerman ($3,100), as he's battled injuries much of the year, he still boasts a more-than-respectable 40.9% hard-hit rate.
