3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 4/25/19

We only get five games on Thursday's main slate, and with a surprisingly robust crew of pitchers taking the mound, that means slim pickings for our stacks. Still, there are a handful of places that stand out, and it may behoove you to go off the board a bit in large-field GPPs.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks.

Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox figure to be the most popular stack by a wide margin, sporting a slate-best 5.50 implied total against familiar stacking foe, Jordan Zimmermann.

Over five starts, Zimmermann has predictably produced a lackluster 5.01 SIERA and 17.0% strikeout rate, and his usual home run woes are likely to continue given his 43.5% fly-ball rate. Dating back to the start of the 2017 season, Zimmermann has given up 62 home runs off a 13.9% HR/FB rate, which comes out to a whopping 1.8 dingers per 9 innings. This one could get ugly fast.

Furthermore, after the Red Sox piled up 11 runs on Wednesday, perhaps they're turning a corner and will start looking like one of the top offenses in the league again. Among active rosters, the Red Sox were tops in team wOBA (.360) and ISO (.219) against right-handed pitching in 2018.

J.D. Martinez ($4,000) and Mookie Betts ($3,900) continue to be relatively affordable for two of the best in the game, and Mitch Moreland ($3,300) makes for a fairly cheap number-three hitter in between them. It may surprise you that Moreland ranks 12th in barrels per batted ball event on the Statcast leaderboard, showing how dialed in he's been to start the year.

You can also find a ton of bargains lower in the order, with Rafael Devers ($2,800), Michael Chavis ($2,400), and Jackie Bradley ($2,100) all among some of the best overall values on the small slate.

Given the high ownership Boston stacks should see in tournaments, it may make sense to go overweight on them with multiple lineup iterations, or at least be sure to go contrarian with your other roster spots.
