FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Thursday 5/9/19

Like we often get on Thursdays, tonight's main slate is on the lighter side at five games and gets started a little earlier than usual (6:35pm ET) to incorporate all the evening games. Coors Field is also off the menu, so implied totals aren't as high as we've seen the last few days, but the New York Yankees and Houston Astros find themselves in the neighborhood of five runs.

On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.

Pitchers to Target

Patrick Corbin ($9,000 on FanDuel): Spending all your coin at pitcher isn't really a thing for this slate, with none of our 10 starters hitting the $10k mark, so we're less concerned about salaries tonight. But that doesn't mean we don't have some intriguing arms taking the hill, beginning with Patrick Corbin, who's posted a rock-solid 3.66 SIERA, 27.8% strikeout rate, and 7.2% walk rate through seven starts. Those numbers may fall a bit short of last season's career-best marks, but some regression was always expected, and Corbin has still shown nice upside this season, scoring 55 or more FanDuel points twice. A date with the Dodgers is one we might normally avoid on a larger slate, but they're less dangerous against lefties and hold a modest 3.75 implied total. Dating back to last season, the Dodgers' active roster has posted a lower wOBA (.329) and ISO (.174) versus southpaws, compared to .346 and .210 facing right-handers.
