3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 6/25/19

Blake Snell has been knocked around in the month of June, and he's locked into a tough matchup tonight. Which other players should you consider fading?

Baseball is heating up, and there are plenty of DFS contests to choose from on FanDuel's main slate. While we have plenty of pieces geared towards guys you should target in your DFS contests, it's also important to avoid sub-optimal options who are overpriced and/or in tough spots.

Let's check out three players to consider fading on FanDuel's main slate for June 25.

Blake Snell, Tampa Bay Rays (SP)

at Minnesota Twins
FanDuel Price: $9,200

As the calendar has flipped to June, it has been a bit of a brutal run for last year's Cy Young Award winner, Blake Snell. While he did fire one strong start against the Boston Red Sox, he has gotten pounded in his other three outings, including a -17 point disaster his last time out.

And it doesn't get any easier for the southpaw, who faces the Minnesota Twins. This is one ferocious offense, a group that leads the league in team wOBA (.351), strikes out the fourth-least (20.1%), and is lapping the field with a .231 isolated power (ISO) mark.

Factor in a strong wind blowing straight out to center field, and Snell makes for an easy fade with so many other quality arms available today.

Anthony Rendon, Washington Nationals (3B)

at Miami Marlins
FanDuel Price: $4,500

There are very few nights when we'd want to avoid Anthony Rendon, but tonight may be one of those nights.

While Rendon has been smashing the baseball at an epic clip, he's locked into a very tough matchup with Miami Marlins hurler Trevor Richards. On a slate with some big names and gaudy strikeout rates, Richards' 21.8% strikeout rate won't wow you -- but his numbers against same-sided bats should. On the season, Richards has held righties to a .279 wOBA and 25.1% strikeout rate.

Combine that with Miami's brutal park factor, and Rendon is a stay away on Tuesday.

Aaron Judge, New York Yankees (OF)

vs Toronto Blue Jays
FanDuel Price: $4,300

Is this the game that Aaron Judge loudly announces his return? Well, there's certainly plenty of reasons to think it could be.

We know the park is great, and Vegas certainly believes the New York Yankees are going to score some runs, giving them a massive implied team total.

But at this hefty price point, Judge is tough to stomach, especially if you're paying up for one of the night's high-priced arms. Judge has yet to record a base hit (0 for 10) since coming off the shelf, and his matchup is a bit trickier than one might think as lefty Clayton Richard sported a brilliant 24.9% fly-ball rate in 537 plate appearances against righties last season.

Even with his ability to get grounders, Richard isn't a very good pitcher, and Judge is bound to breakout at some point. Tonight may not be his jumping off point, however.
