4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/26/19

Christian Yelich and the Brewers could find themselves rounding the bases a bunch against Adam Wainwright tonight.

With only seven games tonight and generally more modest implied totals than we've been used to seeing lately, we might see a slate that's slightly more light on offense. That being said, with Sonny Gray arguably being the only high-end hurler taking the mound tonight, there are still some spots that could exceed expectations.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks.

Milwaukee Brewers

Adam Wainwright may have solid numbers at home, but we see a noticeable drop in performance when he hits the road.

In away games, he owns a worse FIP (5.08 versus 3.79 at home) and gives up far more home runs (1.48 per nine innings versus 0.89). That trend figures to continue at hitter-friendly Miller Park, where the Milwaukee Brewers have a solid 5.30 implied total.

Wainwright could particularly struggle against the Brewers, though, because he also owns similarly concerning splits versus lefties, allowing 1.71 long balls per nine innings compared to just 0.80 in same-sided matchups. We see a similar gap in his FIP (5.08 versus 3.79) and xFIP (4.78 versus 3.97), too.

Well, it just so happens Milwaukee has some guy named Christian Yelich ($4,800) who bats left-handed, along with fellow tough lefties Mike Moustakas ($3,700) and Eric Thames ($2,900) and switch-hitter Yasmani Grandal ($3,100).

Although right-handed batters are in a slightly tougher spot, Lorenzo Cain ($3,000) will set the table as a cheap leadoff man, while Keston Hiura ($3,600) provides more than enough power on his own. In righty-righty matchups, Hiura is sporting a 45.5% hard-hit rate and 40.7% fly-ball rate with a .323 ISO.
