FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Thursday 9/5/19

On a slate light on pitching, can we trust Wade Miley at home against the Mariners?

We get another smaller slate on Thursday, with just seven games making up tonight's main offering. Pitching is a bit on the rough side, though the bats should still excel, with the Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros leading the way.

Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.

On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.

Pitchers to Target

High-Priced Pitchers

Stephen Strasburg ($11,200 on FanDuel): Stephen Strasburg is easily the most talented pitcher on the board -- and is naturally also the most expensive -- owning a slate-best 3.44 SIERA and 29.8% strikeout rate. However, he draws a mediocre matchup against the Braves, and tonight's conditions at SunTrust Park will be less than ideal, with temperatures in the high 80s and strong winds blowing out to center. That adds a whole lot of risk for someone priced this high, but no other hurler even cracks a 25% strikeout rate, pretty much making him the night's top overall option by default.
