Yankees' Didi Gregorius to have Tommy John surgery
New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius will undergo Tommy John surgery on his right elbow after an MRI revealed an ulnar collateral ligament tear.
Gregorius apparently suffered the injury during the American League Division Series against the Boston Red Sox but played through it. Yankees manager Aaron Boone said he is optimistic that Gregorius will be able to play the majority of the 2019 season.
Gregorius averaged 11.5 FanDuel points in 134 games this season. He recorded a .268/.335/.494 slash with 27 home runs, 86 RBI, 89 runs scored, and 10 steals across 569 plate appearances.
