Angels' Justin Upton (knee) hitting in minors game Thursday

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Justin Upton (knee) will serve as the designated hitter in a minor league game on Thursday, manager Brad Ausmus said.

What It Means:

Upton has been tending to patellar tendinitis in his right knee, but it appears the veteran is nearing a spring debut. There's not much concern about his Opening Day availability.

numberFire's models expect Upton to hit .258 with 30 dingers, 86 RBI, 83 runs scored, and 10 steals in 2019.
