Dodgers announce Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) will not start opening day

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) will not start on opening day, per manager Dave Roberts.

What It Means:

Not at all unexpected as Kershaw continues to work his way back from a shoulder injury that plagued him at the start of spring training. He is moving in the right direction and may not miss more than one start for the Dodgers. No announcement was made on who would take the ball in the season opener.

Our models project Kershaw for a 2.87 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 186 strikeouts in 184 2/3 innings pitched this season.
