Mike Trout, Angels reportedly finalizing $430 million extension
The Los Angeles Angels and outfielder Mike Trout are finalizing a new deal that will pay him $430 million over the next 12 seasons, according to multiple reports.
Trout's new deal with the Angels is a 10-year, $363.5 million extension which will begin in 2021, per Bob Nightengale of USA Today. The 27-year-old will still be paid the same $33.25 million salary he was previously due in each of the next two seasons. The astronomical contract beats out Bryce Harper's recent record-breaking 13-year, $330 million deal as the richest signing in the history of United States professional sports.
numberFire's models expect Trout to bat .314 with 39 home runs, 98 RBI, 119 runs scored, 24 steals this season.
