Report: Alex Bregman extending with Astros for 5 years, $100 million
The Houston Astros and infielder Alex Bregman have reached agreement on a 5-year, $100 million contract extension, reports Mark Berman of FOX 26 Houston.
The new deal covers what would have been Bregman's first two years of free agency and locks him down in Houston through at least the 2024 season. Bregman slashed .286/.394/.532 and posted a .926 OPS with 31 home runs, 103 RBI, 105 runs scored, and 10 steals across 705 plate appearances last season. He turns 25 next Saturday.
numberFire's models expect Bregman to bat .283 across 639 plate appearances this season with 28 home runs, 93 RBI, 96 runs scored, and 11 steals.
