Jacob deGrom (elbow) on track to start Friday for Mets

New York Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom (elbow) is on track to start Friday when first eligible, general manager Brodie Van Wagenen said Monday.

What It Means:

"MRI was good, clean, no problems whatsoever," Van Wagenen said. "Jacob threw a bullpen today, and is on track to make his start when he's able to come off (the injured list)." deGrom was placed on the IL last week following a couple of shaky outings.

The reigning NL Cy Young award winner owns a 3.68 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 36 strikeouts and 7 walks over 22 innings (four starts) this season.
