Indians' Mike Clevinger (back) close to rehab games

Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Mike Clevinger (back) could begin a rehab assignment after throwing 2-3 more bullpen sessions this week, according to manager Terry Francona.

What It Means:

Clevinger is eligible to return from the injured list on June 7. He's been sidelined since early April by a right upper back/Teres major muscle strain.

Clevinger was off to a terrific start in 2019, as he had picked up 22 strikeouts over 12 scoreless innings with a magnificent 0.50 WHIP.
