Giancarlo Stanton resting for Yankees Sunday afternoon
New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton is not starting in Sunday afternoon's series finale versus right-hander Justin Verlander and the Houston Astros.
Stanton went 2-for-4 with 4 RBI in a 7-5 victory over the Astros on Saturday. It was his first time driving in any scores this season. Brett Gardner is manning left field in Stanton's place on Sunday.
The 29-year-old is hitting .280/.438/.320 through 32 plate appearances while still looking to tally his first tater of the season.
