Nathan Eovaldi expected to return Saturday for Red Sox
Boston Red Sox pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (elbow) is on track to be activated Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles.
Eovaldi is flying with the club to Baltimore for their upcoming weekend series. He should be activated Saturday if all goes well. The 29-year-old right-hander will likely settle in as the Red Sox's closer for the second half of the season.
Eovaldi posted a 6.00 ERA and 1.52 WHIP with 16 strikeouts and 11 walks over 21 innings (four games) without any decisions before landing on the injured list.
