Diamondbacks option Socrates Brito to Triple-A
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Socrates Brito has been optioned by the club to Triple-A Reno.
Brito got an opportunity at semi-regular playing time in center field following A.J. Pollock's elbow injury, but he did little to take advantage, batting just .226/.226/.387 over 10 games. It will be interesting to see if David Peralta gets a long look in center field. Chris Owings also figures to be in the mix.
Brito debuted in the majors last season, slashing .303/.324/.455 over 18 games. He posted a .362 wOBA with 20 stolen bases in 522 plate appearances in Double-A in 2015 before getting the call-up.
