Jose Abreu (back) out for Astros Thursday afternoon
Houston Astros first baseman Jose Abreu is not in the lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Dean Kremer and the Baltimore Orioles due to lower back discomfort.
Astros manager Dusty Baker said Abreu will be evaluated when the club returns home for their weekend series against the Los Angeles Angels. Jon Singleton will start on first base and bat sixth on Thursday afternoon.
numberFire’s models project Singleton ($2,000) for 6.0 FanDuel points on Thursday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Astros' implied total is 4.91 and the game total is 9.5. Kremer has a 5.38 xERA that ranks in the bottom 9th percentile of the majors this season. He also gives up a high amount of hard hits (43.8%) and has an underwhelming strikeout rate (21.7%).
