Jose Abreu joining Astros bench Thursday afternoon
Houston Astros infielder Jose Abreu is not in the lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Brayan Bello and the Boston Red Sox.
Abreu went 1-for-5 with a double and an RBI in his return from the injured list on Wednesday. Jon Singleton will replace Abreu on first base and bat seventh on Thursday afternoon.
Singleton has a $2,300 salary on Thursday and numberFire's models project him for 6.4 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Astros' implied total is 4.75 and the game total is 9.0. Bello has a 3.70 ERA and 4.09 xERA this season, with a 44.5% hard-hit rate (bottom 15th percentile of MLB), 19.9% strikeout rate, and 6.2% walk rate.
