What It Means:

Seager reportedly suffered the injury at some point during the Rangers' World Series-winning 2023 campaign, and attempted to rest the injury during the offseason. Unfortunately, it seems as though rest alone was not enough, and the star infielder underwent a recent surgery to repair the issue. He will miss all of spring training, but it sounds like he isn't expected to miss much (if any) of the regular season.

Seager was on fire for the Rangers last season, finishing his season with a 1.013 OPS while leading the majors in doubles (42). He launched 33 homers and knocked in 96 RBI on his way to a second World Series MVP, and should go in the early rounds of 2024 fantasy drafts as long as he is able to make a healthy recovery.
