Arodys Vizcaino

Arodys Vizcaino activated off disabled list for Atlanta

The Atlanta Braves activated reliever Arodys Vizcaino from the 15-day disabled list.

What It Means:

This happened a few days sooner than expected. In his last rehab outing with Low-A Rome, Vizcaino gave up two hits and allowed a run, but his strained oblique is apparently healed. It's likely that he'll immediately take back over his closer role, despite Jim Johnson having filled in well for him. Vizcaino was sidelined for just over a month and owns a 3.00 ERA in 36 innings pitched this season.

Vizcaino's xFIP is slightly higher at 3.67, but his 28.83 strikeout percentage is well above the current league average (20.99 percent). We project him to record a 3.72 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP over the remaining course of the season, while tallying seven more saves.
