Wilmer Flores smashes grand slam, Mets top Phillies
New York Mets third baseman Wilmer Flores slugged a grand slam in Friday’s victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Flores' grand slam was some big-time insurance runs for the Mets' offense on Friday night, as his sixth inning bomb extended the Mets' lead to 6-1. It started a run in the next inning where the Mets would extend their lead even more. Flores has dominated southpaws this season and Friday marked his 10th homer off a left-hander in 2016.
Flores is slashing a modest .262/.316/.460 with a .336 wOBA across 288 plate appearances this season. Friday was his 14th homer of the season and he has added 44 RBI's as well this year.
