Rubby De La Rosa starting for Diamondbacks Friday
Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Rubby De La Rosa will start Friday against the San Francisco Giants.
De La Rosa was originally expected to return as a reliever and Braden Shipley was going to start. Their roles now appear to have swapped. A sprained ulnar collateral ligament has kept De La Rosa out of major league work since late May.
De La Rosa was having a promising season before the injury, with career-bests in both SIERA (3.64) and strikeout rate (23.90 percent) across 47 2/3 innings pitched.
