Mariners diagnose Mitch Haniger with a strained oblique
Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger has been diagnosed with a strained oblique.
Haniger left Tuesday's game in the third inning after an awkward swing. It is a bad break for the Mariners as the injury will in all likelihood require a disabled list stint as an oblique strain usually takes three-to-four weeks to recover.
Haniger was an early American League Rookie of the Year candidate as he was batting .338 with 4 home runs, 16 RBI's and 20 runs scored in 95 plate appearances.
