Craig Kimbrel earns the win as Boston defeats Milwaukee
Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Craig Kimbrel earned his second win of the year as he tossed 1 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Kimbrel came into a tied game in the bottom of the eighth with a runner on base. He immediately struck out pinch-hitter Eric Thames and then Keon Broxton to end the Brewers' threat. After Mookie Betts' homer had put Boston up in the ninth, Kimbrel struck out the side in the bottom half to seal the win. He finished with one hit allowed and five strikeouts.
Kimbrel has been lights out with a 2-0 record, 10 saves, 31 strikeouts, and a 0.60 FIP through 15 2/3 innings pitched.
