Jose Altuve hits the go-ahead home run as Houston tops Kansas City
Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve cracked a go-ahead two-run home run in the ninth inning on Thursday as the Astros defeated the Kansas City Royals 6-1.
That was the only hit of the game for Altuve, and he made it count, breaking a 1-1 tie when he took a Kelvin Herrera offering deep to score two and give the Astros a lead that they quickly built on with a late game-clinching rally.
Altuve has a strong .388 wOBA through 60 games in 2017, and numberFire's models project him to hit .321 with 12 home runs, 52 RBI and 65 runs scored in 424 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
