Chris Herrmann on Diamondbacks' bench Monday night
Arizona Diamondbacks catcher/outfielder Chris Herrmann is not starting on Monday night versus the Atlanta Braves.
Herrmann will head to the bench after starting behind the plate on Sunday and in right field in the game before. Jeff Mathis is catching for the Diamondbacks in tonight's series opener while J.D. Martinez is in right field and David Peralta is in left for Arizona. The Braves are sending right-hander R.A. Dickey to the mound.
Herrmann is slashing an ugly .180/.271/.380 with 8 home runs and 23 RBI over 183 plate appearances (74 games) this season. numberFire's models project him to record a .230 batting average with 4 taters and 14 RBI in 114 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
