Nationals' Brian Goodwin (groin) placed on 10-day DL

Washington Nationals outfielder Brian Goodwin has been placed on the club's 10-day disabled list with a left groin strain.

What It Means:

Goodwin left Sunday's game with tightness in his groin, but wasn't expected to hit the disabled list. Unfortunately, that's changed and Goodwin will be on the shelf for several days. With Bryce Harper (knee) and Jayson Werth (foot) still out, the team has called up Alejandro De Aza and will continue to roll out Adam Lind, Howie Kendrick and Michael Taylor in the outfield.

Over 100 plate appearances, our models project Goodwin for 24 hits, 4 home runs and 13 RBI the rest of the way.
