Jose Pirela out of the Padres' for Wednesday's home game
San Diego Padres outfielder Jose Pirela is not in the starting lineup against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday.
It's a routine day of rest for Pirela, and Cory Spangenberg will cover left field while Yangervis Solarte slides over to the hot corner and Dusty Coleman enters the lineup at shortstop.
Pirela has a solid .364 wOBA through 57 games in 2017, and numberFire's models project him to bat .282 and add 3 home runs and 11 RBI in 93 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
