Red Sox put David Price's (elbow) rehab on pause
Boston Red Sox starting pitcher David Price's (elbow) rehab was put on hold Wednesday, reports Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald.
Price didn't throw on Wednesday after experiencing a minor setback the day prior. This is the left-hander's second attempt to recover from an elbow strain that he suffered in the spring. He lasted only 11 starts after making his season debut on May 29 before landing back on the disabled list following a July 22 start. Doug Fister has been filling in for Price in Boston's rotation, but manager John Farrell said he may mix things up. Drew Pomeranz and Chris Sale will start against the New York Yankees on Friday and Saturday, then it will be either Rick Porcello or Fister on Sunday.
Price owns a 3.82 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and 22.1 strikeout percentage across 66 innings this season while going 5-3 in 11 starts.
