Rays' Alex Cobb (toe) could return to action on Tuesday
Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Alex Cobb (toe) could return to the rotation as early as Tuesday, when the Rays take on the Toronto Blue Jays.
What It Means:
Cobb has been out of action with turf toe since August 5, but he made it through a 40-pitch bullpen session without issue on Wednesday, and he's scheduled to throw another on Saturday.
Despite a decent 3.80 ERA, Cobb has had a shaky year, posting a 4.72 SIERA through 23 games. numberFire's models project him for a 4.12 ERA and 1.37 WHIP over the remainder of the season.
