White Sox' Carlos Rodon (shoulder) scheduled for Friday MRI
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Carlos Rodon (shoulder) will undergo an MRI on Friday.
Rodon was scratched from Thursday's scheduled start against the Cleveland Indians due to stiffness in his left shoulder that emerged during warmups. It remains to be seen whether it's related to the bursitis that sidelined the 24-year-old southpaw for the first three months of the season. Even if it winds up being nothing serious, the White Sox may elect to err on the side of caution and shut Rodon down anyway.
In 12 starts this season, Rodon has gone 2-5 while posting a 4.15 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and 25.6 strikeout percentage across 69 1/3 innings.
