Cubs' Jake Arrieta (hamstring) cleared to start Thursday's game
Chicago Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta has been confirmed as the starter for Thursday night's game in Milwaukee, reports The Athletic's Sahadev Sharma.
Thursday will mark Arrieta's first start since suffering a Grade 1 hamstring strain on September 4th. He is expected to be limited to 75 or 80 pitches against the Brewers. For the rest of the four-game series, Arrieta will be followed by John Lackey, Kyle Hendrick and Jose Quintana, in that order.
In his return, our models project Arrieta for 25.0 FanDuel points over 6.1 innings of work. The righty sports a 4.34 FIP, .242 average against along with a 24.2% strikeout rate on the road this season.
