Toronto's Troy Tulowitzki (heel) unsure if he'll be ready for Opening Day
According to Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith, Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki did not say for sure that he would be ready for Opening Day.
When asked if he would be ready for Opening Day, Tulowitzki said, "I definitely want to be out there, but I'm not going to say 'yeah, for sure.' I'm going to take it day by day." The 33-year-old is recovering from ligament damage he suffered in his right ankle last season. It caused him to miss the last two months. Last week, it was revealed that he's been dealing with a chronic bone spur in his right heel. He's taking it slow, yet there's over a month until Toronto's opener on March 29th. Aledmys Diaz or Yangervis Solarte would start if he's unable to go.
In 66 games, Tulowitzki slashed .249/.300/.378 with 7 home runs and 26 RBI in 2017.
