Alex Cora: Hanley Ramirez is Red Sox' number-three hitter
According to NBC Sports' Evan Drellich, Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that first baseman Hanley Ramirez is his number-three hitter going into the season.
With the addition of J.D. Martinez, there was some question as to whether he would move into the three-spot or whether Ramirez or someone else would stick there. For now, it looks like Ramirez will hit before Martinez, with Mookie Betts and Andrew Benintendi in the top two spots. If Ramirez is healthy, he should be a in great spot produce for the Red Sox.
Ramirez had a down-year in 2017. In 133 games, he hit just .242 with 23 home runs and 62 RBI. His -0.23 nERD was the worst of his career.
