Daniel Hudson headed to Rays after trade with Pirates
The Tampa Bay Rays acquired reliever Daniel Hudson, minor league infielder Tristan Gray, and cash considerations from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for outfielder Corey Dickerson.
The Rays will likely use Hudson in a setup role behind closer Alex Colome. He's a right-hander that turns 31 in two weeks and recorded the second-worst SIERA (4.24) of his career last year.
Hudson averaged 4.3 FanDuel points in 71 games last season, with a 4.38 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 24.4 strikeout percentage across 61 2/3 innings while going 2-7 and blowing 2 saves.
