Padres' Alex Dickerson (elbow) not expected to be ready for start of season
San Diego Padres outfielder Alex Dickerson is not expected to be ready for the start of the 2018 season.
According to MLB.com's AJ Cassavell, Dickerson's missed all of camp and is continuing to be evaluated by doctors. He's been down with an elbow issue and is expected to remain out at least until Opening Day. Even if healthy, Dickerson won't find it easy to get reps. Jose Pirela and Hunter Renfroe will garner innings and at-bats in right field.
Dickerson missed all of the 2017 season, but finished 2016 with 10 home runs, 37 RBI and .336 wOBA in 84 games with the big-league club.
