Brewers' Stephen Vogt diagnosed with shoulder strain

Milwaukee Brewers catcher Stephen Vogt has a right shoulder strain, a second doctor confirmed on Wednesday.

What It Means:

Vogt suffered the injury late last month and was still bothered by it on Monday while trying to resume throwing. He'll likely open the year on the disabled list, meaning Manny Pina will start at catcher and Jett Bandy will handle backup duties.

As of now, numberFire's models project Vogt to bat .226 with 8 home runs, 33 RBI, and 25 runs scored in 287 plate appearances this season.
