Giants' Jeff Samardzija (pectoral) scheduled for rehab start on Saturday
San Francisco Giants pitcher Jeff Samardzija (pectoral) is scheduled to make a rehab start with High-A San Jose on Saturday.
Samardzija landed on the disabled list at the end of spring training but he's making progress and is on track to make his 2018 big league debut on April 19 against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 33-year-old right-hander recorded a career-high 205 strikeouts over 207 2/3 innings last season.
numberFire's models project Samardzija to spin a 3.85 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with 160 strikeouts over 180 innings this season.
