Rangers' Elvis Andrus diagnosed with fractured elbow

Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus has been diagnosed with a fractured elbow, according to The Athletic's Levi Weaver.

What It Means:

On Wednesday night, Andrus was hit in the elbow by a 97-mile-per-hour fastball courtesy of Los Angeles Angels reliever Keynan Middleton. Andrus went down and was pinch-run for in the ninth inning. Initial x-rays showed a fracture, which isn't good for the Rangers or their everyday shortstop. He will miss significant time, which could mean sliding Jurickson Profar to short and playing Isiah Kiner-Falefa at second.

Through 14 games, Andrus has 2 home runs, 5 RBI and a .399 wOBA. We project him to tally 10 more dingers and 56 RBI over the rest of the season.
