Toronto's Josh Donaldson (shoulder) expected to be out longer than 10 days
Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said third baseman Josh Donaldson will likely be on the disabled list longer than the minimum 10 days.
What It Means:
Donaldson is dealing with right shoulder inflammation, but doesn't have any structural damage. However, it sounds like he isn't close to returning and still has no official recovery timetable. Donaldson is hitting .239/.352/.457 with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs through 54 plate appearances this season.
For the remainder of the year, numberFire is projecting Donaldson to hit .276 with 69 runs, 29 home runs, and 77 RBIs.
