Cardinals' Tommy Pham says right groin is fine
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tommy Pham told Jim Hayes of Fox Sports Midwest on Thursday that his right groin is fine.
Pham isn't in Thursday's lineup against the Chicago Cubs but claims he could play today if needed, so the Cardinals may use him off the bench. The 30-year-old outfielder experienced some groin discomfort during Tuesday's win but was able to play through it. Harrison Bader is starting in center field and batting him second Thursday against Cubs left-hander Jon Lester.
Pham is averaging 13.2 FanDuel points per game this season while hitting .323 with 2 home runs. numberFire's models project him to hit .260 with 19 dingers, 64 RBI, 63 runs scored, and 10 steals over the rest of the season.
