Kris Bryant makes early exit for Cubs on Sunday, passes initial concussion tests

Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant passed initial concussion tests after having to make an early exit from Sunday's game against the Colorado Rockies when he was hit in the head by a pitch.

What It Means:

Bryant still has to be cleared but this is obviously encouraging news. It appears the 26-year-old star may have suffered no more than a laceration above his eye. The Cubs are off Monday before opening a road set against the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday.

Bryant is averaging 13.0 FanDuel points per game this season. Assuming the injury doesn't lead to an extended absence, numberFire's models project him to bat .272 with 30 home runs, 78 RBI, 89 runs scored, and 10 steals over the remainder of the year.
